The aim of this innovative program is to keep un-used or expired pharmaceutical products out of the waste stream and environment. Recent news reports have described the presence of trace amounts of pharmaceuticals in Bay Area drinking water as well as in Bay waters, and their potential impact on the environment.

All prescription medications, vitamins and medicated creams and over the counter medications are welcome, as well as pet medications. Items not accepted are IV bags, infectious waste, personal care products, empty pill containers, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans and full inhalers.

This is a safe disposal opportunity for your electronic equipment headed for the landfill—computers, televisions, stereo systems, hand-held devices, microwave or toaster ovens, etc. Marin Sanitary Service will be providing paper shredding on site as well. Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District invites District residents to bring in mercury thermometers.

Event Sponsors: Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Marin Sanitary Service, Marin Computer Resource Center, Supervisor Susan Adams and Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District
