Community Take Back Day - A SUCCESS!
The event held May 2, 2009 was a huge success despite rainy weather. Please check back for next dates for community events.
The purpose of the event was to provide Paper Shredding, Disposal of Pharmaceuticals, EWaste, Batteries and Fluorescent Lights.
Results!!
The Marin IJ called the May 2nd Take Back event a “brilliant joint-agency effort – a win-win for all participants” and described it “as very well set up and efficiently run”. Despite inclement weather this event had 145 Customers and yielded collection of:
20 lbs Lithium
640 lbs Alkaline
170x4’ Light tubes (680 feet)
130x1’ Light tubes (compacts)
16x8’ Light tubes (128 feet)
86 pc. Mercury (25 pounds)
167 pounds of Pharmaceuticals
